ReMix:Tetris "C Blachly" 1:36

By Charles Blachly, kobash

Arranging the music of one song...

"Music - 2"

Primary Game: Tetris (Nintendo , 1988, NES), music by Hirokazu Tanaka

Charles scores yet another upbeat techno revision, this time on a bouncy version of a tetris track . . this is not the same tetris theme as the other two ReMixes of tetris on the site, but something different - either from a different stage or a different version of the game. Blachly lays down a four on the floor drum track and some nice phat bass synth to create a short but fun butt-shakin' block-rotatin' track . . booyah.

Nah, this is definitely Type B.

This does show improvement from the artist's other remix, some more inspired instrument choices. Still kind of midi-rip sounding but, so it goes. Always nice to see one of the more obscure Tetris themes get some love at least.

Okay, so not exactly the best aging ReMix I've heard from the early years, but not the worst either. Sounds like it would go in a game rather than be a ReMix from one nowadays, but for what it is, I don't hate it.

Gonna put this simply: this sucks. Almost a midirip with instruments changed, never liked it at all.

Aside from a very couple sections that present some original material (if memory serves me, it's been a long time since I listened to any Tetris music), this is fairly straight-up. Sounds don't impress me much, this didn't age very well. Honestly have to say this is more meh overall IMO.

Pretty midi-esque, but it's a venerable mix and that's just how things were usually done back then. There is enough interpretation present to escape the lockdowns, but it's pretty borderline. Strange that the cymbals seemed to be pretty good quality when the rest of the drumkit was a lot more lofi sounding.

This is a very cool remix. It's too bad that the remixer has died. Very catchy tune. I would have liked to have heard more from him.

this remix is derived from Music Type B on the GameBoy version of Tetris.

It's actually Type A. Great mix of a great song.

I don't know who made it first, but this song - in this particular arrangement - is avaliable in www.vgmusic.com, as a midi signed by Kobash since 1997, when I first saw it.

Go to

http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/index-sz.html and look for Tetris: Music B (3).

I guess the midi was made firsta.

Just a little FYI about this particular Tetris beat...this remix is derived from Music Type B on the GameBoy version of Tetris. I never played the NES version so I'm assuming that the GameBoy was the only version with associated with this particular theme.

Tetris (NES) 'C Blachly'

I love this! I love the beat and the sound to it all. It's fun to listen to, and I demand that you like it as well. It's short, very short, but that only means you'll have to listen to it twice in a row.
