Profit? What's that?? :) GlacialSpoon (Robert Kemp) gives Arcadia Legends a dose (or ten) of high-fructose corn wubs, with a galvanized EDM/dubstep take on TWO victory themes for TWICE the victory:

"With this take on the victory themes, I wanted to make it feel more like a modern celebration, like your life was on the line but you made it through and it feels awesome. Normally in an RPG score, the victory music ends up feeling a little "OK... moving on," which is appropriate to what you're doing. So, outside the game, we can amp it up a bit, like the fight mattered.

As a "press buttons until it sounds good" kind of producer, getting the subtly different keys of the sources to gel was hard for me and the polish on this track seemed to take an eternity. I hope you all think it was worth it! To the skies!"

The polish really comes through; there are sequences of alternating growls, alarms, wubs, and other FX that whizz by quickly but never so fast that you can't appreciate the craft & cohesion of their execution. I like the more cinematic suspense of the intro build, before the wubs/chips drop, and the overall vibe hits hard AND smart. Little things, like the variable decay/verb on the lead melody at 1'00", and a dozen (or more!) different creative transitions keep things interesting throughout. The break at 1'46" gives us a breather and prevents fatigue while gearing up for the next barrage, and everything is executed with confidence and to the intended effect; Arcadia Legends director Darkflamewolf writes:

"The moment I heard "Saria's Drop," I knew in my heart that GlacialSpoon was the right remixer for the job of this game's victory fanfare. Given how much he expanded such a simple theme and went to absolutely crazy directions with it, I knew giving him a combination of "The Victory" and "Bombardment Victory" would give him enough source material to really explore the melodic space. My hunch was correct and he submitted a hilariously unpredictable and incredible remix that I can't help but enjoy every time I listen to it!"

It's pretty intense, but never gratuitous or repetitive - kudos to GlacialSpoon for another example of how to leverage some of the more aggressive aspects of modern EDM production while keeping the arrangement front & center and mixing things up. A standout EDM gem on Arcadia Legends - enjoy!

I am always a fan of seeing some good wub wubs and electronic grittiness in OCremixes! That section starting around 2:40 was especially cool. ? Excellent job on this remix!

Due to his 'Saria's Drop' remix, @GlacialSpoon immediately became my #1 choice to remix the Victory themes for the album. I loved his wacky and insane way he remixed such a simple theme from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, that I knew he could do wonders with a similar sort of theme from Skies of Arcadia. I was happy to find out that I was not wrong and he seemed game on tackling these themes and delivering what I feel to be one of the stand-out tracks on disc 1. It serves as a nice focal point for the middle of disc 1, separating neatly the first half from the second half (despite it being part of the second half notwithstanding!). It feels like the conclusion of one part of the journey, which I feel is the intended goal. I would later ask @GlacialSpoon to take on another combination track, because he was both not only willing, but also because his unique style brought great diversity and flavor to the project. I would not mind working with him again in the future.
